At the forefront of the world’s human rights movement, The Advocates for Human Rights, a 501(c)(3) organization, works to change systems and conditions that cause human rights abuses. We fight injustice and improve laws and lives throughout the world while representing individual victims of human rights violations.
For more than 8 years, our innovative programming has changed the lives of refugees and immigrants, women, ethnic and religious minorities, children, and other marginalized communities. With the help of our volunteers and supporters we investigate and expose human rights violations, represent immigrants and refugees seeking asylum, train and assist groups that protect human rights, engage the public, policy-makers, and children; push for legal reform; and advocate for sound policy.
An independent, nonpartisan non-profit organization founded in 1983, The Advocates develops partnerships and mobilizes volunteers to address some of the most pressing issues of our time. We use this volunteer model because we believe that everyone has the power and responsibility to advance human rights.
